Het Land van Wild Information

During Quater 4 in 2024, as part of our master studies at TU Delft, we worked on this project called 'Scenes in Stadspark West'. This interdisciplinary studio was led by Saskia de Wit and Mônica Veras Morais and consisted of 11 students from the Master's programmes in Landscape Architecture, Architecture and Urbanism at TU Delft.

As part of our project, we analysed interstitial spaces through the lenses of time, transition and traces. Over the course of two months we visited and immersed ourselves in the area, uncovering values that are not easily perceived by those outside the community of Stadspark West. We developed a spatial intervention on site, accompanied by a vision that shows potential futures for this area from a landscape design point of view. During this process we came up with a new name for the area: Wildwijk - a wild but cohesive neighbourhood.

Vision Design    The scattered character of Stadspark West is seen as a opportunity for municipal development. However, our thorough exploration of this area has unveiled numerous hidden values that we strongly believe are worth protecting. These values may not be immediately noticeable to everyone, making it crucial to showcase and safeguard what we have identified as Wildwijk and Het Land van Wild, particularly in the face of crises and climate change.

To this end, we have developed a vision for both Wildwijk and Het Land van Wild, expressing our commitment to preserving these areas. This vision is accompanied by an installation, that can be experienced on June 22 on site. After that day we will elaborate the interventiondesign further under Intervention.
